

She was born on February 9,1930, in Denver, Colorado, to Oscar and Bertha Berger. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado in 1951, she married her devoted husband of 70 years, Herb, on August 31, of the same year. They moved to Grand Junction where they raised their five children.
Throughout her life, Laura May embraced various passions including skiing, tennis, golf, travel and birding and was a dedicated member of P.E.O., Chapter N and Camaraderie. She was also a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church which she served in many ways including being an active member of the choir.
In addition to her philanthropic efforts, Laura May was an enthusiastic traveler, visiting nearly 70 countries with Herb. Her kindness, compassion, and radiant smile left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; her parents, Oscar and Bertha Berger; her brother, Hugh; and her beloved son, Brad (Claire). Laura May is survived by her children, Steve, Andy (Noni), Amy Hill (Don), and Linda Reid (Ersel), along with her grandchildren, Laurie Bacon (Jeremy Biebel), Chad Bacon (Angela), Matt and Haley Hill, Aaron and Sean Reid, and her great grandchildren, Landin, Mason, and Daxten Reid.
A private family service will be held to honor her memory at a later date.
