

Teek's life journey began on March 20, 1942, in Grand Junction. He was one of four children born to Leo and Freda Fiegel, both Grand Junction natives. Teek attended Fruitvale Elementary and graduated from Fruita Monument High School. He continued his education, earning an Associate's degree from Mesa College and a Bachelor's degree from Metro State in Denver.
In 1960, Teek joined the U.S. Navy and served as a SeaBee. During his fourth year of service, he spent (Winter Over) at the South Pole in Antarctica. After returning to Grand Junction, he worked in the family business, Leo's Campers. He later joined Forney Industries as a District Sales Representative, retiring in 2007.
Teek married Mary Harris in 1989, and together they enjoyed traveling with their dogs. Summers were often spent on trips to Lake Powell, while winters were spent in Mexico.
Teek inherited his love of antique cars from his parents, Leo and Freda. He enjoyed restoring classic automobiles, with his last project being a restoration of a 1970 red GMC pickup. Teek was also a member of the Corvette Club, where he won numerous trophies. He was a past member of the REO America Car Club and Wheels West in Grand Junction. Teek will be fondly remembered for his love of animals and his gift for telling funny jokes.
Teek was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Carol O'Connor. He is survived by his wife, Mary Fiegel of Grand Junction; his brother Steve Fiegel and sister Jeanne Gargano, both of Greeley, CO; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2830 D Road, Grand Junction, on April 24 at 10 a.m. A reception will follow at Adobe Creek Golf Course in Fruita, CO, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
