

Leroy was born on June 15, 1960, in Los Angeles, California, to Chalmers Barnhouse and Margaret Louk. He spent his childhood in West Covina, California, and later lived in Blanco, New Mexico, Farmington, New Mexico, and Durango, Colorado. Leroy graduated from high school in Durango, CO.
Leroy worked as an auto mechanic and enjoyed spending his time following stock car racing, NASCAR events, camping, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Gath.
Leroy is survived by his sons, David Wallace (Denver, CO) and Chance Torres (Durango, CO); his daughters, Melissa Humdy (Farmington, NM) and Crystal Wallace (Olathe, KS); his father, Chalmers Barnhouse; his brothers, Chalmers Rosenbaum (Bloomfield, NM), Michael Barnhouse (Farmington, NM), and John Barnhouse (San Antonio, TX); his sisters, Sandra Clark (Grand Junction, CO), Michelle Shaver (Vancouver, WA), Evelyn Barnhouse (Durango, CO), and Anita Conner (Farmington, NM); and eight grandchildren.
A service will be held in Bayfield, Colorado, on June 15th, 2025. Leroy will be missed by all who loved him.
