family.
Lon was born on February 25, 1972 in New Iberia, Louisiana to parents Lon
Dell Bobbitt Sr. And Lupe Rivera Bobbitt. Lon became the ornery baby brother to
Michael, Tina and Donna. Lon spent his childhood earning the nickname ¨Bozo¨
running carefree, encouraging mischief and playing sports through the bayous of
Louisiana, which was one of his favorite places in the whole world. When he was
fourteen years old, Lon moved with his parents and sisters to Colorado for dryer
climates, where he developed a new love for Colorado. Living out his teenage
years and into young adulthood, he tried everything good and bad.
At 21 an unexpected tragedy changed Lon´s life. This led him to begin his passion of finding
all the good in the world. Soon after, Lon met his first wife Ellen Lynn Hoover, they
gave birth to their first daughter, Serena Lynn, on July 6th 1996. They then married
April 12th 1997. Over the course of the next 3 years, Lon not only became dad, he
became ¨BIG¨ as they welcomed their daughters Hayley Florence and Kayla Marie.
Lon and Ellie raised their family while Ellie was battling numerous health issues
that claimed her life in 2007. Lon then relocated with his 3 daughters to Grand
Junction, CO. Over the next 4 years, he worked hard dedicating all his time to his
daughters´ school, sports, and interests, including leaving his butt prints on the
bleachers at JUCO every year.
In 2011, he met the second love of his life Radawna Clark. They had their first date at Grand Junction Farmers market, where he brought his 3 daughters, she brought her 2 sons, and foster daughter and
grandson. That day, he knew that he would marry again. Lon and Radawna joined both of their families together on March 1st 2012, where he also became ¨pops/papa¨. From that time on, he dedicated his life to being the very best husband, father, and grandfather to the ¨clabitts¨ (Clark and Bobbitt). In 2021, Lon
was blessed to meet his long lost son, Donavon Jones, and his wife Kalina.
Lon has always had a love for sports, and that continued throughout the rest of his life.
While he enjoyed watching them on TV, his real joy was watching his children/grandchildren play and develop the same passion and love that he had. Lon also had a passion for music that really showed when listening to his sons and father-in-law play. Despite his many interests and hobbies, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up.
Lon is preceded in death by his father Lon Dell Bobbitt Sr. and his 1st wife Ellen Lynn
Hoover-Bobbitt. He is survived by his wife Radawna Clark-Bobbitt, his mother, Lupe Rivera Bobbitt, his sons, Donovan Jones, Gabriel Clark, and Joesiah Clark-Bobbitt, and his daughters Serena
Bobbitt, Hayley Craig, Kayla Bobbitt, and Ayla Weaver. He is also survived by his
brother Michael Hill, and his sisters Tina Weems and Donna Moore. At the time of
his passing, Lon had five beautiful grandchildren, one grandson and four granddaughters.
A memorial service for Lon will be held Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81505.
