Lorie Denise Sheader was born February 5, 1965 in Denver, Colorado. She died after her battle with cancer on June 12, 2025 at the HopeWest Ferris Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. She survives through her three children, Erik, Madeline, and Kalab; her mother, Darlene Hircock (Don); and her father, Dennis Sheader; her four brothers, Edward, Wesley, Matthew (Kate), and Phillip (Shannon); step-sister and brother, Tanya and Eric (Virginia); Uncle Joe (Linda); bonus sister, Cathy and cousin, David; and her numerous nieces and nephews, including four great-nieces and nephews.
She lived in a variety of places including Denver, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction and New Castle. In each place she went, she brought with her, her own wild and beautiful outlook.
Her life was marked with accomplishments and trials. One of these achievements was graduating from Metropolitan State University of Denver. It was through one of her classes that she found her true passion, caves. She got into the sport of spelunking (cave exploration). She took many under her wing in teaching and sharing her passion. Those that knew her would say she was most at peace while within those caverns.
Those that knew and loved her will remember her for her unique style and sense of humor. Her smile and laughter will be forever missed.
