Lucille attended Aspen High School and graduated with the Class of 1950; she then went on to get a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Northern Colorado University. She taught 3rd grad for a few years, but found that was not enough of a challenge for her so she enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps in 1958. She worked in Intelligence near D.C. for two years.
After she left the WAC Lucille moved to Moab, Utah where in 1968 she met and married Roger Mead. Two years later their daughter Karen was born. Karen was taught a strong faith in Jesus and the love of travel from both parents. Faith in Jesus was important to Lucille so she loved watching her step grandchildren grow into the Godly adults they are today.
Lucille also loved gardening, reading mystery books, and traveling; especially by road-tripping across the United States.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Karen Mead; step-sons, Marshall and Paul Mead, many nieces and nephews.
