Ludwig Clifford ""Kip"" Wood was born in Mentor, Ohio, the third of Clarence and Gisella Jurasek Wood's six children. He was educated at Case Western Reserve University. He married June Ellen Cummings and they enjoyed over 70 years together.
Kip lived and worked in Medina, Ohio, Rockford, Illinois and Cincinnati, Ohio before fulfilling his dream of moving west. The Woods built a home in the mountains of Boulder where they spent many years before retiring to Grand Junction, CO. As a design engineer, many swimming pools and water parks were created on his drafting board. Kip and June were world travelers who kept their passports up-to-date. He began taking family campouts to national parks in the 1950's. He enjoyed fishing, especially deep sea fishing. Over the years, he shared adventures with 12 dogs and loved walking with them. Kip appreciated attending the Grand Junction Symphony.
He was preceded in death by his young son, Timothy and his wife. He is survived his sister, Dorothy Kunz of Parma, Ohio, and two daughters, Nancy Hoefer (David), and Janet Mitchell (Gary) and three grandchildren, Steve Hoefer, Laura Conant and Kristen Seiff, and three great-grandchildren.
Internment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.
