

Mae was born on January 14, 1929 in Colorado Springs, CO to Robert and Ruth Lollar. She attended Colorado Springs High School and later graduated from Leadville High school in 1947. She married Leo Ryan, an accountant in Leadville, in 1949. The couple had two children, Terrance and Timothy, Mae stayed home to care for them. Her children remember her as a loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
Mae was accomplished at interior design. She spent many years refurbishing a victorian home in Leadville, and a cottage in Palisade. She was a witty individual who loved to entertain and was passionate about her family. She was a dedicated member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Palisade, where she often volunteered.
Mae is survived by her sons Timothy (Yolanda) Ryan of Palisade, and Terrance Ryan of Leadville, her siblings, Patricia Lollar of Santa Fe, NM, Caroline Silver of Lakewood, CO, and Bob Lollar of Evergreen, CO, and grandchildren Rachel (Steven) Rust, and Liam Woodward-Ryan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Lollar, and her husband, Leo Ryan.
Mae’s life was celebrated on Monday, May 23, 2016 in Palisade, CO by her closest friends and family. Her final resting place will be Leadville, CO with her husband Leo Ryan. The family would like to thank Mae’s caregivers at the Palisade Retreat and Mantey Heights for their support, skills, and dedication.
