

Manisha Ann Grimes, 31, went to her heavenly home very unexpectedly and into the arms of Jesus at 12:55am on November 16, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital emergency room in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was born on April 28, 1991 in Chelybinsk, Russia. Her original name was Marina Alexandranova Osipova. She lived in an orphanage until she was adopted by Kevin and Zoe Grimes on September 16, 1993. She was a joy to her family as she joined her sister Kyla who was only 3 months older. A year later she was joined by Dimitry who was also Russian and 16. Six years later Peter who was 11 from Romania rounded out her family. She played soccer and performed gymnastics for several years beginning at about 5. She loved children and if you didn’t know where Manisha was at church, you just had to find where the small children were located! She was home-schooled until she started public middle school in 6th grade. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 2010. During her senior year she completed the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course and received her certification. Manisha loved the Lord as her Savior. Manisha had such a cheerful spirit, a smile which would light up a room, and a contagious laugh. She was known giving big hugs. Her top priority is her life was following the Lord. During high school she went on two one-week mission trips to minister at a deaf school in Jamaica. She’d learned sign language from a deaf friend at school. She would use her vacation days every year from work to be a counselor at a Christian camp. Manisha worked as a CNA and van driver at Family Health West in Fruita, Colorado, for over 10 years. In July 2022 she obtained a new job as a driver for the PACE program at Hopewest Hospice. She is survived by her parents Kevin and Zoe Grimes of Columbia, South Carolina, two brothers, Dimitry Grimes (Ashley) of Westminster, Colorado, Peter Grimes of Grand Junction, Colorado and a sister Kyla Hood (Lance) of Nucla, Colorado, and her paternal grandmother Wahneita Grimes of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. She was proceeded in death by her paternal grandfather Richard Grimes and her maternal grandparents Howard and Mabel McElhiney. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10:00am at River of Life Alliance Church, 701 24 ½ Rd., Grand Junction, Colorado 81505. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens located at the end of North Avenue.
