Marian grew up on the prairie with her twin sisters Maxine and Marjory and her two brothers Milford and Robert and dad was a wheat farmer. She attended a one room schoolhouse and went on to finish high school in Omaha, Nebraska. During World War II she landed a civil service job and went to the nations capital Washington D.C. After putting herself through art school she became a successful commercial artist and illustrated for the major department stores in Washington. It was during this time that Marian met her first husband Frank and they made their home in Rockville, Maryland. After Frank died tragically young, Marian met and remarried Lee S. Miller. During the second half of her life they moved back out west and Marian was reunited with her family and eventually ended up in Grand Junction, Colorado. Both Lee and Marian were active in various churches and participated musically and as counselors guiding people with bible studies and sharing their faith.
