Marina Kathryn Pell Stone passed away on May 28, 2024, at the Western Slope Memory Care Center, Grand Junction, CO at age 85 after a brief illness. Marina was born on October 19,1938, in Greencastle, Indiana. She attended college at Ball State University and graduated with a degree in biochemistry. She spent her career doing medical tests, most recently with the American Red Cross. Marina had a deep abiding faith and was active in the Monument View Bible Church. Marina was up for any adventure and achieved her bucket list goals including rafting the Grand Canyon, bicycling across America, climbing Mt Fuji in Japan, canoeing in the Quetico wilderness of Canada, hiking in Costa Rica, exploring the Inland Passage of Alaska, and backpacking in the Sierra Nevada wilderness and the Olympia Peninsula.
Marina most enjoyed time spent with her husband, family, and friends at their Trout Lake home high in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. She was a most gracious host at their home in Grand Junction. Marina is survived by her husband Roger Stone, son Darren Lindblom, daughter Darcy Lindblom, stepson David Stone, brother Chuck Pell, grandchildren Shayna, Amber, Bryan, Eve, Simon, Ben, Anderson, and Hanna, as well as nine great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Marilyn Pell.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, June 9, at 12:30 pm at the Monument View Bible Church, 1173 17 1/2 Rd, Fruita, CO. The viewing and funeral service will be Monday, June 10 starting at 9:30 am at the Callahan Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd in Grand Junction. Interment will follow at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pregnancy Center of Grand Junction. Marina was defined by her faith, love of family and friends, and adventurous spirit.
