I had the privilege of caring for Marlene’s husband for a little over a year, and during that time I became very close to their family. Marlene was one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known. She had a giving heart, a warm smile, and a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for.

I was grateful to be considered part of their family and to help care for her husband. Even after his passing, Marlene and I stayed in touch, and I always looked forward to hearing from her.

While I am deeply saddened by her passing, I am thankful for the impact she had on my life and on so many others. Marlene left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and her kindness will not be forgotten. She will be missed very much.

Not a day goes by without a reminder of you. 
Without you knowing, you taught me to slow down, to not take time or any one for granted, to love unconditionally and fully - even when it's messy, to give freely and to laugh loudly. You are alive through all the stories and experiences you shared with us - we still talk about you, especially your days in France.
I find comfort in knowing that you are with God, Bernie, Phoebe, Arlene and all your loves in between!
I miss you fully and will continue to until I see you again.

Marlene was an incredible woman with the kindest heart and biggest spirit. She always made everyone around her feel loved and welcome. I have never met a kinder heart, a warmer smile, and a bigger cheerleader than her. Her smile lit up the room and her laugh filled any space with joy. Selfless and generous, Marlene always seemed to be doing or thinking of others simply because of her heart.
Marlene loved to love and be loved, it overflowed from her. Her love, support, and friendship steadied and lifted the minds and spirits of those blessed to know her. Her unwavering care of the things she loved and cherished in life was a beautiful example of her character.
Winston and I (and Baby) love you so much Mar, thank you for sharing your light with us. I can still hear your laugh and loving "Hi Sweetie, its Marlene!"

I'm so sorry to hear of Marlene's sudden passing and will always remember her kindness and laughter. We met in Las Vegas around 1997 when I was doing temp work at a law firm. One day, Marlene saw I was struggling with the computer software and asked if I needed help.  From there, we started developing a friendship and she introduced me to Bernie. They were both wonderful to be around and they were so supportive of me and my then 4 year old daughter.  I remember Marlene getting mad   when she wanted to throw me a birthday celebration on turning 50 because she said all the decorations she could find were black - i.e., saying at 50 you're over the hill! When we moved to Phoenix, Marlene and Bernie would come many times to visit and we went to Vegas as well.  Zandra got to spend time with them as well when she visited them and always thought of them as her grandparents. I will always remember them for their kindness and Marlene's huge smile.
