She is survived by one brother, George Bradley Hargett of Alabama.

Mary Jane “MJ” Brown of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. She was born in Russellville, Alabama on February 10, 1939 to Annie Lorene Rowe Hargett and Ross Bradley Hargett and later graduated from Auburn University before moving to Pensacola, Florida to teach elementary school.
Mary Jane and husband Ridgely Brown were married in Coronado Beach, CA, where she continued her teaching career. They moved to Littleton, Colorado and later to Dillon, Colorado. To escape the cold winters, they began spending their winters in Tucson, Arizona, and later moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Throughout, Mary Jane enjoyed book clubs, reading, playing tennis and reminiscing about their wonderful trip to Paris.
Mary Jane was preceded by her husband, the love of her life for 39 years; her parents; and nephew, David Bradley Hargett. She is survived by her brother George Bradley Hargett, and nephews Christopher Warren Hargett, Jeffrey Ross Hargett, and Brian Andrew Hargett.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Callahan Edfast Mortuary at 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, CO. A grave side service will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dillon Cemetery in Dillon, Colorado.
