Mary K. Casper

On September 19, 2020, Mary K. (Viken) Casper of Clifton, Colorado, passed away at the age of 73 after a long illness. Mary was born July 26, 1947 in Cody, Wyoming to Axel and Marguerite Viken. She graduated from Cody High School in 1966. In 1968 Mary enlisted in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman until her marriage in 1969. She was a drug and Alcohol counselor for many years in Cody and Sheridan, WY. Mary studied theology and became an ordained minister in 2007. Mary had many health issues which forced her to retire. She loved the outdoors and was an avid dog lover, taking in and rescuing her beloved pups.

Mary is survived by her wife of 35 years Betty Briones, Sisters: Lila Hulet of Cody, Wyoming, Randi Tjugen of Bergen, Norway and Brother Aksel Viken of Bangsund, Norway; Daughters: Jeani (Rick) Chambers of Pottsboro, TX; Mary (Lonnie) Bowles of New Castle, CO; and Jennifer (Tom) Knight of Greybull, WY; 7 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, a great granddaughter, and a great grandson.

She is predeceased in death by her parents, and grandson Bradley Aksel.

Private services will occur next summer at her favorite place of Sunlight Basin, Wyoming.
