Mary Frances Evans Epperson, 85, formerly of Sedalia, Missouri, was ushered into Heaven in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, January 19, 2020 at 7:35 p.m. at the Larchwood Inns Nursing and Rehab Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. Mary was born January 29, 1934 in North Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of E. Howard and Juanita M. (Williams) Evans. She graduated high school at North Kansas City High School in 1954. On January 23, 1955, she married Freddie Eugene Epperson who preceded her in death. Mary was the mother of six children and a homemaker most of her life. She was also a career Navy wife who traveled to wherever Dad was stationed. She was a devout Christian, having accepted Christ at the age of 10 and followed with believer’s baptism at the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for the special people in her life. Each one is as unique as the person she thought about and prayed about as her fingers wove the yarn into the individual squares that would later be sewn together into a beautiful creation filled with love. She was an avid reader and enjoyed authors Billy Graham, Joyce Meyer, and many others. She studied the Bible daily and firmly believed in the power of prayer. She shared her faith with her children as well as others she met along her life journey. Survivors include one son, Dennis Epperson and wife Debby of Parachute, Colorado; five daughters, Barbara Martinez and husband Louis, Clear Lake, Iowa; Janet Jones and husband Jerry, Sedalia, Missouri; Beverly Hosting and husband Lyle, Ft. Atkinson, Iowa; Sandra Epperson, Kansas City, Missouri; Kimberly Vasquez, Kansas City, Missouri; her brother Raymond Evans and wife Marilyn, Eureka, Montana; sister-in-law Joyce Summers and husband John, Smithville, Missouri; brother-in-law Larry McCall, Kansas City, Missouri; 20 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Also preceding her in death is her parents E. Howard and Juanita M. Evans; and sister, Shirley M. (Evans) McCall.
