

In loving memory of Mary Ridenour, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. Mary Ridenour (Ruby) was born August 12, 1956, and passed away peacefully May 9, 2026, surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. Mary was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Floyd and Louisa Ruby. She was a beacon of light and compassion, graced with a heart as vast as the horizon. Her childhood was spent alongside her beloved siblings, and it was there that she developed a deep love for family and a steadfast spirit that would guide her throughout her life. Mary’s life was marked by a profound love for her family. She married the love of her life, Edwin Ridenour, on November 22, 1975. Together, they built a beautiful life, spending just over 50 wonderful years full of joy, laughter, and enduring companionship. Their lives were blessed with two children: Corrina Ridenour of Montrose and Clint Ridenour (Danelle) of Collbran, who she adored and brought joy to her life. Mary’s legacy is carried on by her four grandchildren, Kolt Ridenour of Grand Junction, Kaden Ehart of Collbran, Cody Ridenour of Cedaredge, and Kymber Bieser of Ballard Utah, all of whom she adored beyond measure. Her heart was further enriched by the arrival of her great-grandson, Nash Boone Ehart, who brought her boundless joy in her later years. Her sisters, Patricia Deniston of Berthoud Colorado and Nancy Ruby of Stamps, Arkansas, also survive her, a testament to the enduring bonds of sisterhood. Mary is also blessed with an abundance of nieces and nephews who she treasured. Mary is predeceased by her sister Frankie Ruby, her parents Floyd and Louisa Ruby, her
brother Floyd “Butch” Ruby, and her nephew Steven Deniston. Although they have passed, their memories were cherished by Mary throughout her life. Mary dedicated her professional life to serving others, working in various insurance agencies on the Western Slope. She retired from Hub International in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and a multitude of friendships that continued to thrive until her passing. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary was a woman of varied interests. She found solace in the gentle rhythm of gardening, the thrill of fishing, and the tranquil beauty of time spent on or in the water. Above all, Mary cherished her family. Her home was always open, filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of her generous spirit. Mary had a rare gift for making everyone feel loved. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she drew strength from her love for the Lord. Her compassion, kindness, and unwavering support for those around her will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honoring Mary’s wishes, a private memorial will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to HopeWest, Grand Junction location, or the Friedrich's Ataxia Foundation, organizations that held a special place in Mary’s heart. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at HopeWest Care Facility in Grand Junction for their exceptional care and support during Mary’s final days. Mary’s legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered and cherished by those she leaves behind. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends, as they carry her spirit forward in their hearts.
