Mary Lee Sottilare

Mary was born on March 23, 1948, to John D. Rabon and Eileen S. Rabon (née Kostboth). She earned a Master's degree in Social Work, a reflection of her lifelong care for others. Over the years she lived in Canistota, South Dakota; Miami, Florida; Vero Beach, Florida, where she made her home for more than 35 years; and Grand Junction, Colorado.

On April 21, 1975, in Miami, Florida, Mary married Santo "Sandy" Sottilare. Together, Sandy and Mary shared decades of devotion — much of it spent side by side collecting and selling antiques. Flea markets, thrift stores, and antique shows were their happy hunting grounds, and the love of the search became a passion they passed down to their grandchildren. Above all, Mary delighted in her family, taking deep and abiding interest in the lives of her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eileen Rabon; her brother David Rabon; and her sister Pamela Joyce.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Santo "Sandy" Sottilare; her children, Lori Sottilare, Lisa Leo, and Andrew Sottilare; her grandchildren, Robert Segurola II, Louis Leo IV, and Santo Leo; and her great-grandchildren, Giorgia Segurola, Luciano Nardi, Lucca Leo, Marco Leo, Vincent Leo, and Olivia Leo. She is also survived by her brother Johnny Rabon, and by her nieces and nephews, including Jonathan Joyce and Hannah Rabon.

A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church, 840 N. 11th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Mike Redeker. The family extends their eternal gratitude to Pastor Mike for his many visits offering prayer, communion, and spiritual care to Mary and the family during this time.
