Survivors include her husband, Jim; one son, Jay of Grand Junction; two daughters, Jimmie of Grand Junction and Yonne Wilson of Stuart, Fla.; one brother, Roger Brown of Oak Harbor, Wash.; one sister, Betty Bray of Grand Junction; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou Vancil
June 26, 1929 - February 13, 2014
Mary Lou Vancil died on February 13, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was 84.
Mary Lou (Brown) Vancil was born on June 26, 1929, to Orin and Dorothy Lee (Edwards) Brown in Springfield, Missouri.
She married James Dean Vancil on March 15, 1952, in Aztec, New Mexico. They made their home in Grand Junction, Colorado. Mary worked at Mountain Bell, retiring after 30 years.
She is survived by her spouse of 61 years, Jim Vancil; daughters and sons-in-law, Jimme and Lynn Bemis, and Yonne and Marc Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Lori Vancil. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Theron, Brooke and Jaelynn Bemis, Flemming Thompson, Alix and Makenzie Vancil as well as two great-grandchildren, Hannah Bemis and Kylynn Neighbors. Mary Lou is also survived by sister, Betty Bray and brother, Roger Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Brown.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, February 20, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
