Mellissa Louise Bowen

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center on G Road.

She is survived by her husband, Gene; two sons, Cory Bowen and Matthew Darnell, both of Grand Junction; three daughters, Sonya Bowen and Danielle Bowen, both of Grand Junction, and Jessica Grimsby of Mack; her father, Jack Repp of Maryland; her mother, Sioux Robbins of Mack; a brother, Michael Repp of Mack; a sister, Maggie Repp of Loma; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

August 18, 1968 - September 15, 2015

Mellissa was 47 years old when she passed away at HopeWest Hospice Center after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones and a dear friend.

She was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, to Jack Repp and Sioux Robbins. She attended school at Fruita Monument High School and attended nursing school for many years.

Missi had two children, Matthew Darnell and Jessica Platz Grimsby.

She married the love of her life, Gene Bowen, June 17, 1999, in Fruita Co.

Missi worked for Family Heath West in Fruita many years, before working at Community Hospital and finishing her career at St. Mary's Hospital in the rehabilitation unit working as an aide; she loved her patients and co-workers dearly.

Her hobbies included canning, sewing, reading, taking in any animal she could find, and of course her family.

Missi is survived by her husband, Gene Bowen; her parents, Jack (Pat) Repp of Maryland; Sioux (Rocky) Bartels of Mack, CO; sister, Maggie Repp (Rowdy) of Loma; brother, Michael Repp of Mack; her children, Sonya Bowen, Cory Bowen, Danielle Bowen, Matthew Darnell, and Jessica (Kevin) Grimsby all of Grand Junction; niece, Echo Bartels; ten grandkids with one on the way, and three great-grandkids.

Services will be held Friday, September 18th, 11:30 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center 2542 G Road.
