Moises Carrillo was born in Moreno, New Mexico to Salvador and Tonita (Valdez) Carrillo, he later moved to Durango Colorado and married the love of his life Sophie (Montoya). Together they were blessed with their one and only daughter Lori, who made their family complete. Moises loved and served the lord in his daily life, he also served our country in Vietnam. He enjoyed singing old Spanish songs and playing guitar. He was a skilled horseshoe player with many trophys. He was also a great bowler. He was a humble man who loved spending time with his family and going to church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, he would always put others before himself and always lended a hand. As a talented carpenter he hand crafted his own furniture, and worked on commercial construction in Avon. He also worked for Union Local 1319 Carpenters Union Hall in Farmington NM. He settled in Grand Junction in 1986, where he ultimately retired. His beloved wife passed in 1998, he later remarried in 2006 which ended in divorce. Moises passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, sister Rita Wilkie, brothers Lino and Leroy Carrillo, and beloved wife Sophie. He is survived by his siblings Kate (Alex) Jarmillo, Emma (Jim) Lujan, Diane (Gilbert) Valdez, Sandra (Bob) Holgate, (Ruby) Carrillo, (Charlotte) Carrillo, (Richard) Wilkie, his daughter Lori Carrillo (Jaerrod) and grand children Marrissa, Reyes, and Kevin Enriquez, and many neices and nephews as well as brothers and sisters in laws,other relatives and friends. The family invites you to join in a celebration of his life.
Viewing will be Sunday 2:00 to 4:00PM at Martin's Mortuary, as well as Monday from 10:00 to 11:00AM at Jubilee Family Church prior to the funeral services.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Jubilee Family Church located at 483 30 Rd off I -70 business loop and 30 Road
