Molly Cathleen Ryan
November 21, 1980 – September 15, 2026
Molly Cathleen Ryan, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, educator and mentor, passed away on September 15, 2026, far too young at the age of 45. Though her time on earth was far too short, her life was full and impactful to all, and the love, faith, and joy she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Molly grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1999. From an early age, she loved sports and competition, participating in many different activities throughout her school years. Volleyball and basketball held a special place in her heart, and the friendships and memories she made through athletics remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.
Molly continued her education after high school, ultimately earning her B.S. in Mathematics Education from the University of Northern Colorado, followed by a M.A. Counseling from Adam’s State University. Her passion for education and for helping young people led her to teach mathematics and coach volleyball and track at Fruita Monument High School, and then become an instructor at Colorado Mesa University, where she touched the lives of countless students that she cared about deeply.
While Molly took great pride in her work and in the students she inspired, her greatest earthly blessing was marrying Mark Ryan October 1, 2005 and building a family together. She was especially grateful for the gift of becoming a mother to her three daughters, Kinley (16), Bria (14), and Bella (9). They were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment of raising them. Molly was their greatest encourager and most devoted supporter, making every effort to be present for their activities and events. She often traveled long distances to attend multiple games in a single weekend, always making sure her girls knew they were loved, supported, and never alone.
Molly’s life made an immeasurable impact in her 45 years. Molly is survived by her husband Mark and three beautiful girls Kinley, Bria, and Bella. Molly’s parents, John and Chris McGee, her sister Meghan (Chris and Christopher), her brother David (Kristen, Declan, Vivian), and her sister Mary (Chance, Macy, Callie, Cash, Marlie). Molly was preceded in death by her Grandparents Bart and Van Allen.
A celebration of life will be held on October 4th at 2:00 in the CMU Meyer ballroom.
