Norma Ruth Flynn, 82, passed away on September 27, 2021 at Cappella of Grand Junction. She was born March 30, 1939 to Marvin Wesley and Margaret Naomi King in Elk City, OK, where she spent her childhood. She attended Merritt High School and graduated from Grand Junction High and later Mesa State College with an associate degree in business. She worked for Mesa State for thirty years as a recruiter and administrator in their admissions office. She was also a top saleswoman for Avon and frequently volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Norma was a loving wife to her husband of 55 years, Hugh Patrick Flynn, who she married on November 21, 1958 in Grand Junction. She greatly enjoyed working with him on their farm, traveling, and singing in the choir at United Methodist Church, where she was a devoted member.
Norma leaves behind by her son, Gary Duane Flynn of Fruita, CO; daughter, Debbie Thomas of Grand Junction, CO; daughter-in-law, Christi Flynn; son-in-law, Guy Thomas; sisters, Elaine Workman, Rowena Hanna, and Marilyn Shepherd; grandchildren, Stephanie Sloan, Jennifer Stephens, Megan Allen, and Brittany Flynn; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Callahan Edfast Mortuary with a burial at Memorial Gardens to follow.
