Mrs. Ophelia M. Gregg Church

Loving matriarch passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. Ophelia was born on February 1, 1929 in Salida, Colorado, the daughter of Wesley Gregg and Ophelia "Bug" (Patterson) Gregg. She married James W. Church in Grand Junction on November 2, 1947, who preceded her in death. Ophelia retired from Mountain Bell in 1979 after over 30 years employment. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother , grandmother, and a true friend to all those around her. As the backbone of her family, she was always there to give her unconditional love and support. Ophelia is survived by her three children and two granddaughters, Diana (Church) Stephens and husband, Steve Stephens; Darlene (Church) Smith, Doak Smith and daughter Kelly Marie; James Wesley Church Jr., wife Chris and daughter Lindee Marie. Ophelia's memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family request that remembrances for Mrs. Church be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Gray Gourmet.
