Ricky Dee Hellmuth was born October 15, 1955 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Darlene (Ireland) and Jerry Hellmuth. Rick graduated from Ft. Morgan High School in 1973. He then went to work in construction building houses. Later on he went to work in the oil field. He started out as a floor hand and worked his way up to driller then tool pusher then site consultant for different drilling contractors. He started his own successful business and then found his way back to oil field which he loved.
Rick had a passion for old Ford trucks, preferably from the 1960’s. He loved to restore and work on them. He was a very astute mechanic and paid close attention to detail.
December 1, 2022, Rick passed away at his home in Fruita Colorado. He had a good fight with cancer and enjoyed life until the end. He is survived by his brother Chris (Michelle) Hellmuth of Salina Kansas, his daughter Chelsea (Lonnie) Luna and his son Luke Hellmuth all of Phoenix Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father Jerry Hellmuth and his mother Darlene Dunning.
Rick has two children, Chelsea and Luke. Rick loved to take them camping and fishing. Sometimes, his mom Darlene would join them. One of their favorite spots was Taylor Park in Colorado. He also enjoyed playing golf.
