October 1, 1925 - January 16, 2016
Robert Newell Davis "Bob" age 90, was born on October 1, 1925, in Denver Colorado. Bob passed away January 16, 2016, at the Grand Junction Veteran's Hospital.
Bob proudly and honorably served in the United States Naval Forces for three years during World War II.
After an honorable discharge from his Naval Services, he met the love of his life, Catherine Davis in California. After being wed, Bob bought a bakery in California. Catherine and he ran by themselves a great and well known bakery. Soon after, they decided to sell the bakery and then moved to Palisade, Colorado in 1971.
Robert was President of the Elk's Lodge in Palm Springs, California, President of the Lion's Club in Palm Desert, and Past President of the Palisade Lion's club. Palisade is where Bob and Catherine decided to settle and raise a beautiful family. Bob and Catherine celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary last September, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Davis; his brother, Richard Davis of Oregon; his children, Lance Davis and Amanda Davis-Pinnt, and his grandchildren, Gina Flores, Matthew Pinnt, Kristen Black, Nathaniel Adamson, Adam Davis, Jessica Martinez, Zoe Davis and Bailey Davis, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Bob sadly left us to be in heaven now. He will always be in our hearts and mind.
We would like to give a special Thank You to all the nursing staff at the Grand Junction Veteran's Hospital. You showed such compassion and were so kind to our family and Bob in his moments there. Thank you for all you do!! We respectfully ask at this time the services are closed and private.
