Robert Paul Kirgan

Bob Kirgan was born on November 18, 1951 in Denver, Colorado, where he was raised. He graduated from Wheat Ridge High School where he excelled at gymnastics, volleyball, and basketball. He played these sports throughout his life. After graduation, Bob came to Grand Junction and attended Mesa College, where he received his B.S. in geology. He worked for Encana and Gunnison Energy throughout his career. Bob loved to dance and devoted time to children’s gymnastics. Bob climbed almost every “14er” in Colorado. His closest friend was his cousin, Bill Sheehy, of Henderson, Nevada. Bob’s cat Lola was a cherished pet. He died peacefully at Vineyards Memory Care. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Kirgan, of Lafayette, Colorado. Bob will be missed by his many friends, some he’d had his whole life. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Unity Church 3205 N. 12th Street in Grand Junction. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to HopeWest Hospice Care Center 3090 N. 12th Street Grand Junction, Colorado 81506.
