He moved to Southern California where he graduated from Excelsior High School in June 1965. Then he moved to Oklahoma, and eventually to Grand Junction, CO.
Roger was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He had an interesting life. He worked for Corn Construction for 19 ½ years and then retired. He loved deer hunting and fishing. He also loved working on lawn mowers. He had a lawn mower business for 20 years. One of his favorite pastimes was gambling. He would fly to Wendover, Nevada and was admired by the staff at the Rainbow Casino.
He is survived by his brother, Bradley Burkhardt; sister, Gloria Adamson (Kenny); nephew, Jeffrey Elliott (Kathryn Scott) and their three children, Sara, Kaileigh, and Gavin Elliott; niece, Susie Liddicoat (Rusty) and their children, Shawn Liddicoat (Dani), Cole Liddicoat (Katrina), and Chase Liddicoat (Cami Ahrens); great nieces and nephews, Sara, Keileigh, Garret, Eliott, Jaxyn, Ascher, Jasper, Poppy, and Evelyn Liddicoat. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Edith Burkhardt; and sister, Linda Elliott.
