Ronald Eugene Allen

Ronald Eugene Allen was born to Walter and Darlene in Neligh, Nebraska. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1957 and served until 1961 and then became an insurance agent for more than 30 years at Bankers Life and Casualty.

Ronald was blessed with a loving family. He married the love of his life, Barbara Kay Zitterkoph on October 7, 1962, at Salem Congregational Church, in Scottsbluff Nebraska. In 1963 they welcomed their son, Scott Walter Allen, who now resides in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Ronald was always the life of the party. He was willing to engage in conversation with anyone he knew for fifty years or five minutes. He loved to tell stories about his childhood and his brothers. He was so proud of his family and didn’t have a problem telling anyone that would listen how much he loved them. He enjoyed horses and all western TV shows.

Ronald is survived by his son Scott Allen, daughter Karen Lafurno. His three grandchildren Devon Allen, Zach Allen (Amber Allen) and Taylor Sadler (Justin Sadler) and his six great grandchildren Linzee Sadler, E’owyn Merrigan, Jaxton Sadler, Luna Merrigan, Talynn Sadler and Pippin Merrigan. He is survived by three brothers and sister, Douglas Allen (Sally Allen), Larry Allen ( Maxine Allen), Randy Allen (Pam Allen),and Sister Cindy (Jim). He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his father Walter Allen, his mother Darlene Gebers and his brother Gary Allen.

Donations can be made to The Great Escape Mustang Sanctuary and Training Network and Disabled Veterans National Foundation.

The services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita, Co February 28th at 1:00pm and following the service, please come celebrate his life at 778 Anthracite Dr Fruita, Co 81521
