I am so sorry about the loss of Uncle Roy.  He was such a kind, loving and hard working man. He was very proud of his family.  And always had a smile on his face. He will be very missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

People grow up in life and miss the opportunity to know a man like my grandpa. I will cherish every moment we spent together. He worked everyday and never complained about the work. What he did for a living is a very hard job with little financial rewards but he was always able to provide for his family. I had the opportunity like many of his friends to work by his side for a short time. I always thought he was a strong man before that but  this time made me realize how they just don't make people like him anymore. He taught me that the best fishing bait to use is a night crawler or salmon eggs depending on the fish of course. There were no fancy lures or rigs in his tackle box hooks line and bobbers. I remember camping as a kid in Colorado and a storm came in mom had put us kids in our tent we looked out while it was hailing and snowing and there was grandpa fishing on the bank the picture of him standing there in the weather will stick with me forever. Mom also melted our shoes by the fire that night LOL. The last great memory I have with my grandpa is spending a day with him in Tennessee fishing. We did not catch a thing that day but I did not care I got to spend the day with him. I wish that his great grand kids would have the opportunity to know him as I did. I will do my best to keep his memory alive in them!!!! Our family must stay strong and together as he has always kept it.

Thanks David you meant a lot to dad! He was sitting on my back patio the last time you talked to him and he was sooo happy to have gotten to talk to you. You were very special to him!

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Grandpa Roy's family.  Grandma Shirley I am so sorry for your loss.   I did not have the opportunity to meet grandpa Roy but sure wish that I could have had that life changing chance.  However, even though I missed out on that opportunity, Grandpa Roy and the entire family is in my heart and loved.  I will forever cherish the heartfelt memories I've heard about him from his daughter Crystal and his grandson Danny Leroy Dutton Jr., & the others from his amazing family.  I know what an amazing father he was to Danny Sr., Annette, Brenda, & Crystal.  I have heard MANY wonderful things about what an exceptional grandfather he was to ALL of his grandchildren as well.  Grandpa Roy you are LOVED by so many and will be thought about every single day!  You will NEVER be forgotten!  I want to say thank you because I know from the bottom for my heart that you will continue to look over ALL of your family, their loved ones, & your friends from Heaven.  We ALL LOVE you Grandpa Roy and will miss you dearly!!  To ALL the family I send you tons of love!!

I met R.D.about 25 years ago and worked with him almost as many years. He was usually the oldest on the crew but could out work all the young masons without even trying. He was the guy that could always make you laugh on your bad days.I was glad that even my son Christopher that was just a baby when I met Roy was able to work with him a few years before he retired. I was saddened when I was told he was sick. I figured he would live forever.  Two words to describe Roy ""GREAT MAN"". Rest in peace Roy Dutton.
