

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. July 22nd at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Grand Junction, Colorado for both Sara and her husband Harry (Hap) Foster.
Sara was born June 18, 1926 in Hamburg, Arkansas, the youngest of five children to Scott and Margaret (Baird) Savage. She spent her early life Arkadelphia, Arkansas, graduating from high school and going on to attend college at Henderson State majoring in education.
After graduating from college Sara moved to Gunnison, Colorado, where she worked as the secretary to the president of Western State College. It was here she met her future husband, Harry (Hap) Foster.
After Hap earned his degree in education, the couple moved to Fruita, Colorado. Sara was a devoted stay-at-home mom to their two girls. When the girls were older, she went to work as a high school librarian at Grand Junction High School.
After retiring, Sara and Hap traveled extensively to other countries. Sara loved showing the picture of her riding a camel. She hiked most of the Grand Canyon with friends and loved going on 100-mile bike rides. She rode her bike at every opportunity. She was also an avid bridge player and played until the last year of her life.
After her husband Hap passed away she moved to Lander, Wyoming and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and worked in the hospital gift shop. She was also a long-time member of PEO in Grand Junction and Lander.
Sara is survived by her daughters Margaret (John) Applegate of Lander, Wyoming and Kathleen (Paul) Arevian of Denver, Colorado, grandchildren Jennifer (Jared) Hamilton of Hudson, Wyoming and Ross Nauman of Bozeman, Montana and three great granddaughters.
Her husband, parents and siblings preceded her in death.
