Shirley has been a dear friend for many years, she had a wonderful way of making you feel special, always so glad to see you and gave undivided attention to what you were saying, never talking about herself, just interested in you!  She treated everyone this way, like she was so very glad to see you and welcomed you with her beautiful smile. We will miss Shirley but know that we will see her again in heaven. She was " a true servant of God"

I am so sorry for your loss.  Shirley and I shared numerous trips abroad and in the United States over a span of 25 years or so.  I always appreciated how she found beauty in various cultures, monuments, music, traditions and the people of other countries.  She laughed easily and her laughter was infectious.  I certainly will miss her.

I have so many memories of Shirley it's hard to focus. She was open, helpful and insistent. She appreciated things a person did for the church and when she said you were missed from some church event, it was genuine. The most singular thing about her besides her active faith, her caring about her children and grand children was her openness. When I asked her how  her day was going, she told me. Jenny and I will miss Shirley.

We were devastated to hear of Shirley's passing and to miss the service honoring her life.  I always thought of Shirley as the face of RCC. Her sweet spirit and kind smile were a given, day in and day out, year after year and were a lovely introduction to newcomers as well as a comfort to longtime members of our church. Although we have not see her in person for over a year, we have a firm and beloved memory of her face. She will be remembered with love.

Oh my friend Shirley I don't know how to start to say how much you have meant to me. Our friendship since junior high is very special. We have had wonderful times over the years and I'm so thankful how the Lord has watched over and guided us. I know you are singing praises now. We had so many wonderful times traveling and just hanging out.  I'm thankful for you and asking for God's peace and blessings for your family. Thanks for all the wonderful times. Love Pat Hartog 

Aunt Shirley will surely be missed by so many. I always felt so welcome in her home and loved spending Thanksgiving with all of the family.  We never know how long we will have someone in our lives, and I'm honored to have been a part of the family for over 40 yrs. My love and prays for the entire family - celebrate her life, tell funny stories and know she is at peace and home. 

Shirley was always so welcoming to my husband and I.  Every time we visited Redlands Church, or came on a regular basis, she embraced us in conversation and was interested in us.  Shirley told us about her family home up by Cimerron, Colorado and shared her love of being able to get away to the Pleasant Valley.  Now she is in a very pleasant valley, heaven.  I know the Lord welcomed her with open arms.  She was such a blessing.

Shirley was so encouraging to me when I showed up at craft day. She would tell me how glad she was when I was there and that she so enjoyed the crazy stories I would share. It was fun to find a beautiful piece of paper that had lavender and green and pass it along to her, as she was so grateful and she would gush over the simple beauty she found in paper. She shared her travel photos on those many Saturdays, and encouraged others during our time together.  She was kind to our daughter Krista that worked with her in the office for a bit and it was so nice to see that connection. I was glad that Krista came home this past Christmas and got to give Shirley a big hug in church. I was blessed to know Shirley.

We are so sorry for your loss.  Shirley was a great lady. She was given so many talents from the Lord and she used them.  I loved her warm smile and caring heart. How awesome for her it must have been to hear the Lord say well done. She shall be missed greatly.
