Shirley Bernice Jarrell

Shirley B. Jarrell, age 88, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital. Shirley was born on July 24, 1934 in Steamboat Springs, CO to Leonard Batton and Roxie Springsteel Batton. Shirley spent her childhood growing up in Oak Creek, CO where she graduated high school from Oak Creek in 1953. She married her loving husband, Howard C. Jarrell on May 24, 1953 in Oak Creek, CO. They were proudly married for 70 wonderful years. Throughout her life, Shirley worked and retired as a Clerk for Mountain Bell Telephone Company, and enjoyed games and sewing. She also was a member of Grace Point Church in Grand Junction, CO. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother and father, and also by a grandson. She is survived by her beloved husband Howard C. Jarrell; her sons, Rick (Liz) Jarrell, Greg (Lori) Jarrell, and Dirk (Chris) Jarrell; 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. A viewing for Shirley will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, Grand Junction, CO. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Grace Point Church, 606 28 3/4 Rd., Grand Junction, CO. Burial following services at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens, 2970 North Ave., Grand Junction, CO.
