Sue Ellen LaBounty

Sue was born December 26, 1949. in Lancaster, New Hampshire, to Shepard H. and Betty May (Willis) Mahurin. She spent her childhood in Groveton, New Hampshire, and attended some high school there but later earned her GED. She married her first husband, Steve Currier, and they divorced in 1987. Sue married Gary A. LaBounty on October 17, 1987 in Groveton. The couple moved to Grand Junction, where they have spent the last 30 years.

Sue took pride in her job as a laser tech and trainer at CoorsTek in Grand Junction. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, and knitting- but most of all loved being a homemaker and mother. Some of Sue’s favorite sayings were “it is what it is”, “whateva”, and “just because I’m not smiling on the outside doesn’t mean I am not on the inside”. She will be greatly missed.

Sue is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Jonathan D. Currier of Cornville, Arizona; daughters, Peggy Currier Willms of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Angela Currier Hinkle of Craig, Colorado; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Her parents, Shepard and Betty Mahurin; and one sister, Pamela J. Mahurin DeMerchant, precede her in death.
