June 1, 1967 – October 15, 2026
Terralea Marker(Nielsen), age 59, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 15, 2026, at 8:12 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, with her beloved husband and children and their spouses by her side.
On September 12, 2026, Terralea was involved in a tragic ATV accident that resulted in a spinal cord injury. She fought with incredible strength and determination through weeks of hospitalization and one complication after another. Despite her family’s unwavering hope and the tremendous fight she put up, she ultimately passed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 1, 1967, in Utah, Terralea was the daughter of Terrell and Mildred, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Laticia Neebling, and her siblings David, Don, Fred, Mike, Kenny, and Jane. She is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan “Jon” Marker; her children, Tyson Nielsen and his wife, Devon; Nichole Demel and her husband, Julius “Beau”; and Lacie Bach and her husband, Blake; her stepsons, JT Neebling and his wife, Diane, and Justin Marker and his significant other, Mary Grace; her brother, Bobby; and her five beloved grandchildren, three through Tyson and two through Lacie. She also leaves behind her cherished fur baby, Buddy, who was an important part of her world.
Terralea made Grand Junction, Colorado, her home in 2002. And In 2025, she and Jon moved to Eckert, Colorado, where they began pursuing a dream of building their forever home on 35 acres of land. It was a dream filled with possibility, love, and plans for the many memories they hoped to make together.
In 2011, Terralea returned to college to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in December 2017, a tremendous accomplishment that reflected her determination and heart. She loved being a Registered Nurse, and it was truly what she was meant to do. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she brought that same compassion, dedication, and love into every part of her life.
Above all else, Terralea’s family was her world. She was the center of their lives, the person who made everything feel right, whose presence made a house feel like home, and whose love held their family together. Her children, grandchildren, and fur babies meant everything to her, just as she meant everything to them.
Terralea loved her husband, Jon, more deeply than words could ever begin to describe. Their love was something truly special—a bond built on unwavering devotion, deep connection, and a partnership that went far beyond what words could express. Jon was her person, her partner, and her heart. The life they shared and the dreams they built together will forever be a part of her family’s story.
Terralea loved camping, traveling, making memories, and finding joy in both the big adventures and the little everyday moments. From trips to Disney World, Mexico, and Hawaii to cliff jumping, family adventures, and spontaneous moments of laughter, she embraced life wholeheartedly. Wherever she was, there was a good chance she was dancing. She had a way of making ordinary moments extraordinary, filling every experience with love, laughter, and a little bit of magic. The memories she created with the people she loved will be treasured for generations.
Terralea was pure love. She was the person her family turned to, the one who made things feel okay, and the one whose presence made the world feel softer and brighter. She was their heart, their constant, and their home. She was theirs, and they were hers.
The world will never be quite as bright without her. There are no words to describe the emptiness left behind by a woman who meant so much to so many. Her absence will be felt at every family gathering, on every adventure, during every celebration, and in all the quiet moments when her loved ones instinctively wish they could call her, hear her voice, or feel her embrace one more time.
Nothing will ever be the same without her. But the love she gave, the memories they made, and the pieces of her that live on in each of them will never disappear. Her strength, compassion, laughter, adventurous spirit, and boundless love will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
Terralea was deeply, deeply loved. She will be missed beyond measure, remembered in everything her family does, and loved for all the days of their lives.
Forever our momma. Forever a wife. Forever our heart. Forever our home.
