

Theresa Nisley, born October 19, 1957 to Darlene and Gerald Knipping, passed away May 2, 2026 at the HopeWest Hospice Care Center. She was a woman full of love, compassion, kindness and adventure leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Theresa dedicated 30 years of her life to serving others as a nurse, caring for countless individuals with both skill and a deeply compassionate heart. She was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus wholeheartedly, and her faith was evident in the way she lived and loved others.
In her younger years, Theresa enjoyed riding motorcycles, and hot air ballooning. She cherished spending time with her “peeps,” creating memories filled with laughter and love.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and Mema—and nothing brought her more joy than her family. Theresa shared 48 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Jack Nisley, whom she married on June 17, 1977.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Nisley; her children, Jason (Sarah) Nisley, Matt (Zita) Nisley, J.P. (Ellie) Nisley, and Laura (David) Russell; and her cherished grandchildren, Jackson, Anna, Emily, Claire, Lucas, and Gabriel. She is also survived by her sisters, Kristine (John) Pennington and Lori (Randy) Sparks, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; and two stillborn sons.
A celebration of life will be held on May 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Church on the Rock-2170 Broadway, Grand Junction, Co 81507
Though her family grieves deeply, they find comfort in knowing that Theresa is now in heaven, whole and at peace, dancing with Jesus. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
