

Thomas Merrill Eaton, age 26, of Grand Junction, passed away on October 15, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Thomas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born September 16, 1997, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Robert Merrill and Penelope Ruth (Penny) Eaton.
Thomas had a love and passion for baseball and spent his childhood/teenage years playing. He loved being part of a team and enjoyed spending time with his teammates and his coaches. He played All Stars OMLL and competitive baseball (OM and GMLL).
Thomas attended Union High School in Roosevelt, Utah, Central High School in Grand Junction Colorado and graduated from R-5 High School in Grand Junction Colorado.
Thomas had an amazing personality. He was respectful, loving, kind, adventurous, and always friendly to everyone he met. His smile and his laugh always brought a smile to your face, and he always knew how to make everyone a little happier when you saw him or talked to him. He easily made friends and everyone that met him loved him.
Thomas had a love for the outdoors, he always wanted to be outside doing things, he enjoyed fishing, and riding four wheelers. He had an adventurous, free spirit and always wanted to have fun. He loved working with his hands and was a very creative, mechanically inclined individual. He spent a lot of time working on building cars and motorcycles. He participated in car and motorcycle clubs in Grand Junction, where he acquired many friendships.
Thomas worked for Alexander United for several years, he started out as a flagger and with his work ethic and skills he later became a traffic control Supervisor. Everyone that worked with him respected him and thought of him not only as a coworker but as a friend and a brother.
Thomas was a wonderful dad to 2 beautiful little boys Michael and JT who were his pride and joy. They will dearly miss their dad.
Thomas had the love of countless family and friends. He had many role models throughout his life who helped shape and mold Thomas into the amazing man that he was today. His love for his family and friends was strong and unmoving, leaving a permanent impact on all who knew him.
Thomas is survived by his parents Robert (Nicole) Eaton, Roosevelt, Utah; Penny Eaton, Grand Junction, Colorado; his children, Michael Lee and John Thomas Eaton, Grand Junction, Colorado; mother of his children Morgan Merquard, Grand Junction, Colorado; his siblings, Robert (Kayla) Chandler, St. George, Utah; Andrew Eaton, Grand Junction, Colorado; his half siblings, Kylee, Chase, Ashlyn, Shaylee Jo Eaton, Roosevelt, Utah; Shalee Dawn Eaton, Grand Junction, Colorado; step sister, Jasmine Robinson, Grand Junction, Colorado; grandparents, Floyd and Wilma Chandler, Grand Junction, Colorado; Deborah Eaton, Parachute, Colorado; Bruce Long, Grand Junction, Colorado, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life for Thomas will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Church in Grand Junction, Colorado.
