Trudy Marie Rhodes Buffington passed away in her home on January 19, 2019. Trudy was born July 30, 1947 in Silt, Colorado to proud parents Lois Marie Jordan and William “Bill” Rhoades. She was raised in Naturita, Colorado and attended school there. There, she made many lifelong friends who have loved and kept in touch with her throughout her life.
At the age of 13, Trudy moved to Grand Junction to live with her grandparents, Ralph and Marie Ford. In her new home, Trudy enjoyed the love of her grandparents and her cousin, Wayne Kincade. She loved the fun of growing up with the Colorado River as her backyard and the mischief she got into with many cousins and aunts and uncles.
Trudy loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing on the Grand Mesa, often driving her grandmother and Uncle Ray. She loved animals and cared for many pets throughout her life. She also enjoyed many years of hunting camps with big door-to-door tents.
Trudy had a strong work ethic and loved her job and the many friends she made through her work.
Trudy married three times. She and her last husband moved her family to army bases in Panama and Virginia. She found the years she spent living on base to be a wonderfully happy time. She really loved Panama and hoped to return there someday.
Trudy is survived by her treasured children, son, Dwayne D. Davidson and daughter, Yvonne Marie Davidson; two sisters, Connie Lynn Christian and Tamara Ann Pierce; five nephews and one niece and many cousins who all love her dearly.
Services for Trudy are pending. She will be laid to rest with her parents and grandparents at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery where many of her dearly loved family will be close by, as it has always been.
