

He is survived by three sons, Del of Clifton, Gary of Grand Junction and Jim Allen of Saratoga, California; two daughters, Marsha Dimitt of Salt Lake City and Jeanie Roller of Grand Junction; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Volney ""Bud"" DeRush
August 30, 1923 - December 5, 2014
Volney ""Bud"" DeRush, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Grand Junction, Colorado, on December 5, 2014.
Bud was born on August 30, 1923, to Volney and Mary DeRush in Grand Junction, Colorado, and raised in DeBeque, Colorado. He married Freda McPeek in 1943; she died in 1956, but was blessed with two children, Del and Marsha. He then married Floy Allen in 1958, she died in 2001. She had three children, Jim, Jeanie, and Gary.
Bud enlisted in the US Navy. He was a World War II Veteran and served six years on the USS Enterprise Aircraft Carrier in every major Pacific battle.
After returning home from the Navy, he worked at Independent Lumber Company, Union Carbide, and had his own construction business, building both commercial and residential properties throughout the Grand Junction area.
He is survived by five children, Jim Allen (Diane) of Saratoga, CA; Del DeRush (Edna) of Clifton, CO; Marsha Dimitt (Kip) of Salt Lake City, UT; Jeanie Roller (Carl) of Grand Junction, CO; and Gary DeRush (Diane) of Grand Junction, CO. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Bruce DeRush (Laurie) of Grand Junction, CO; Darshann Dimitt (Tyler) of Layton, UT; Kimberly Burton (Bruce) of Sunnyvale, CA; Todd Allen of San Jose, CA; Cory DeRush of Oskaloosa, IA; Natalie DeRush, of Hawaii; Derek DeRush of Studio City, CA, and four great-grandchildren.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Erma Gene Henderson and Thelma Rawlings, and grandson, Davin Adams.
Dad had requested no services, just have a shooter with him at 5:30 p.m. every evening.
