I was one of your Dad's close work associates and did not hear of his death until several months after his death. We had talked about a month prior to August and needless to say I was shocked and very saddened to get the bad news. If possible Iwould love to speak with either of you. My number is 661-255-1695.

Dear Ann and Amy,
I still think of your Dad almost daily. For many years he was my best friend. We talked daily about business but spent many years talking family. I only met you once at the farm in Toledo but I do feel I knew you both. I learned of his death because of an email that came back as undeliverable and notification the phone was disconnected. My wife looked through obituaries and came in to tell me the bad news.  Needless to say I was shocked. To this day I have a hard time accepting it. For the number of years we worked together I cannot even remember him even being sick. I would love to hear from either one of you. I loved Walt like a brother.

Dear Ann and Amy,
I sent Walt an email early in the week and was surprised when it came back as undeliverable. When I tried to call the phone was not working.The last thing I expected was to find out your Dad had passed away. From 1976 to 1990 Walt and I worked together at Purex. He was my best friend during that time. We have lost close touch during the past few years but I still have regarded him as a close friend. Needless to say I am shocked and saddened. You probably know how much everyone in the private label business community respected your Dad, but I want you to know he is the best person I have ever known. Fred Thatcher

Walt and Joyce were members of First United Methodist Church and I remember Walt always sat up in the balcony with me and my kids while Joyce sang in the choir. He was always so friendly and up beat, always with a joke or dig, and I missed them terribly when they quit coming to church. May you rest knowing he is with his beloved son in heaven.
