Bill was born to Donald Carrico and Willa (Dickerson) Carrico in Pueblo, Co, and grew up on the family farm west of Olathe, CO. Bill, or Billy, as his family and most of his friends called him, went to Stone School (a little 3-room country school) his first eight years, and then four years at Olathe High School, graduating in 1960. There was no kindergarten at that time. He attended Mesa State College (now CMU). While attending Mesa State, he went to work for Pacific Fruit and Produce, and was transferred to Pocatello, ID. Bill married Marge Fedler in 1962, and had two sons, Gregory A. Carrico and Mark W. Carrico. He went into the insurance business, and then moved back to Grand Junction. Bill and Marge divorced in 1975. He then started his own biological agricultural distributing company. Bill moved to San Diego, CA in 1985 and started his own insurance agency. He met his wife Joan in San Diego and 2½ months later they were married. They moved back to Grand Junction in 1993.
Bill is survived by his wife, Joan, his son Mark Carrico of Grand Junction, two sisters, Donna Jones of Montrose, and Beverly Lewis of Olathe, two granddaughters, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Greg, his parents, and his two brothers-in-law, Bob Jones and Dexter Lewis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
