

Ruth Thye passed away at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Grand Junction on November 28, 2016. Ruth was born to Emery and Leona Caviness in Hazen, Arkansas on February 7, 1931, the fifth of six children. She attended schools in and around Hazen and helped out on the family farm. When she graduated high school, she moved to Texas to work and live with her older sister's family. During this time she met the love of her life, a young airman named Roy Thye from Grand Junction who was stationed at James Connally AFB in Waco, Texas. They married in 1952 and remained married until Roy's death in 2011. During their marriage they resided in Arkansas and Colorado. They settled in Grand Junction after Roy's retirement.
Ruth was preceeded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Alan Thye, and wife, Robin, of Kenai Alaska. Blake Thye and wife, Anne Marie, of Grand Junction. Sister-in-law Verda Caviness of Carlisle Arkansas, two granddaughters, three great granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
Ruth and Roy are interred together at Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.

No services will take place.
She was a waitress.
Survivors include two sons, Blake of Grand Junction, and Alan of Kenai, Alaska; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
