He married Rosa Maria Rodriguez on April 11, 1986.
Ascension worked in the construction business, specifically for DLM Steel. He loved gardening and carpentry. He also enjoyed listening to music in his free time.
Ascension is survived by his wife, Rosa; children, Carlos, Rosy, Octavio, Yadi, Lisandro, and Lucy; grandchildren, Layeli, Miguel Jr., Itzel, Carlos Jr., Lisandro Jr., Adriana, Honowaii, Leokane, Natalie, Ariel, Jazmine, Angel, Octavio, Jr., Bella, Leonardo, Albert, Vanessa, Nick, Caryssa, Anthony and Rosalyn; great-grandchildren, Leonardo Jr., Jeremy, Melody, Edwin, Melanie, Isabella, Camilla, Luna, Nova and Soul; and his sister, Anna Rodriguez.
