Alex Sanchez Esparza Jr.

Alex Sanchez Esparza Jr., age 87, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Esparza was born January 20, 1936 in Austin,Texas to Alex Esparza Sr. and Herlinda Sanchez.

Alex was married to Simona Esparza for 55 years and together they raised five children. Alex was a member of the Marine Corps Reserves. He played the guitar and loved to sing. He especially loved all family get togethers. He was in the tile installation business and some of his works can be seen in buildings in Grand Prairie and at the Emergency Room at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

A Memorial Service for Alex will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 610 N.E. 17th Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.

Alex is preceded in death by his parents, Alex, Sr. and Herlinda; his wife, Simona; and granddaughter, Stephanie Esparza; brothers, Albert Esparza, Sr., Armando Esparza, Sr., and sister Bertha Soto.

He is survived by his children Corinne Benavidez (Armando), Alex III (Monica), Stephen (Linda), Reyes (Frieda) and Eladio; grandchildren, Marcos Benavidez (Jackie), Sara Isaac (Mario) Alex John Esparza (Marianne), Shannon Barron (Andrew), Gilbert Esparza, Stephen Esparza, Andrew Esparza (Vicky), Joshua Esparza (Emily), and Simona Esparza; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Jesus Esparza, Margarita Thurston, Judy Maldonado and Rose Marie Segura; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
