Ana Bertha Casarez Rodriguez was born on February 23, 1962 in Ciudad Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Her life was dedicated to her family, beginning in her childhood when she worked to provide for her mother and siblings. At 17 years old she migrated to Dallas, Texas and continued to provide for her mother from afar.
Ana Bertha met her husband, Joel, and together with their children they created a home filled with love, laughter, and happiness. Though she suffered with arthritis Ana Bertha refused to surrender to it. She continued to work hard and lived with strength and positivity, never allowing it to bring her down. Ana Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family, decorating her home, and travelling. She made it a priority to travel with her family and enjoy nature in any way she could.
Ana Bertha’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. Many times, she would say how they kept her going and how much happiness they added to her life. Ana Bertha instilled in them the importance of family, kindness, and travel.
God called Ana Bertha home on August 24, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Joel; children, Rita Marisa, Liliana, and Joel, Jr.; sons-in-law, Ray Ramirez, Jr. and Daren Lewis; brother, Martin Casarez; her grandchildren, Julian, Christian, and Everly Ana; and her beloved dog, Charlie.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Rita Martinez; grandmother, Leonor Casarez; and sister, Gloria Serrano.
Ana Bertha was a beautiful person inside and out. Everyone who had the privilege of meeting her felt her love and kindness. Through her faith, Ana Bertha had a forgiving heart and always found positivity in any situation. She will be remembered for showing love to everyone she met, for her strength in any situation that came her way, her sharp wit and ability to make us all laugh, and for her determination to live her life to the fullest despite the adversity she faced.
A celebration of Ana Bertha’s life will take place at the Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home on Beltline Road in Grand Prairie on Friday, September 1st. Family and loved ones may pay their respects beginning at noon, followed by a service at 1 PM.
