Maria Annie (Ann) Medrano, age 77, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on June 7, 2021 after a brief illness. Ann was born on April 8, 1944 to Ysaias and Guadalupe Pisana in Florence CO. She was raised in Greeley, CO, and attended Greeley High School.

In 1961, she met the love of her life Mel Medrano, and they married on October 13, 1961, they raised 3 children Vicky Medrano-Bemis, Grand Prairie, TX, Nick Medrano (wife Darleen), Arlington, TX and Mick Medrano (wife Jill), Midlothian, TX.

Ann will be remembered by all her family, friends and relatives as a loving Navy wife married to husband Mel (US Navy Ret) for nearly 60 years. Ann was a warm and beautiful Nana to six grand children, Sean, Tiffany, Cristal (Cippi), Stacia (Ian), Diamond and Cayleigh and ten great grand children Noah, Gianna, Elaina, Isaac, Jordan, Isaiah, Melannie, Serenity, Julius and Cipriano Jr.

In 2008, Ann retired after 36 years as a Civil Service Employee working in a variety of positions from Nursing Assistant at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI, LPN, Emergency Room and ENT Receptionist at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA and Receptionist at The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in Dallas, TX.

She enjoyed her morning walks with her friend Clara Howard, playing golf, and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in front of her TV watching her favorite game show “Wheel of Fortune”.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Ysaias and Guadalupe Pisana, brothers Frankie, Raymond, and Michael Pisana, sisters Nellie Cervantes and Josie Morales. She is survived by her husband, daughter, two sons, grand and great grand children. Sisters Lupe Alvarado (husband Ramon), Greeley, CO, Rachel Becander (husband Bill), Evans, CO and Candy Bernal (husband Bobby) American Falls, ID.

Ann was a joy at the Summit. She was such a great person & friend. We will miss her terribly. She is now with the angels in heaven. It’s hard to let go, she will be in our hearts always. Bless & keep you, Mel and all of the family.
