Bea moved to Arkansas at a young age with her family and went to school and worked in the cotton fields alongside her parents and siblings. She married Hermon Breedlove in the local judge’s cow pasture on May 20, 1951, just a week before she graduated from Lakeside High School in Lake Village, Arkansas. During her Senior year and after graduation she worked as a proofreader for the local newspaper.
Throughout the years she worked at the local five and dime and after moving back to Texas, she worked at Ben Franklin warehouse, but her favorite job was owning her own fabric store in Grand Prairie, TX. When her children were finally grown and gone, being a housewife and babysitting her grandchildren was a joy, the pay was just a bonus.
Bea enjoyed baking, making silk flowers, corsages, bouquets and sewing outfits for the family, cousins and all. She loved sewing and quilting and especially enjoyed teaching others how to sew, quilt and cook.
Bea loved to read her Bible and make notes (in shorthand). She played the piano and accordion every chance she got and was very active in her church, Lakeland Heights. In her final days, she was a blessing to all the workers and residents at the nursing home she resided in.
