

Ben A Vasquez, 90, went to be with the Lord March 1, 2014. Visitation will be held March 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral home in Grand Prairie, TX. The funeral Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie, TX on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. with burial to follow at the DFW National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Ben was born August 20, 1923 in Hewitt, TX to Martin and Rosa Vasquez. Ben proudly served his country in WWII in the Battle of the Bulge and later served in the Naval Reserves. He and Rose Saenz married on September 7, 1946 in Waco, TX and were married for 62 years until her death in 2009. Ben was employed by LTV/Vought for 42 years as an aircraft mechanic. Ben’s true love however was Jazz and Big Band music. He led and played drums for his band, Bennie Andy, for many years in the DFW area. Ben is surpassed in death by loving wife Rose, brothers Martin and Gus and sister Frances. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Frank Eilers; grandchildren, Celina and Jon Buchanan, Jonathan Dodd and Liz Arday; great grandchildren, JD and Camilla; sister Mary Herrera of Ft. Worth and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
