Bessie graduated from Danbury High School in 1942 and was described in the yearbook as ambitious, kind-hearted and generous. She worked as a nurse and homemaker who played basketball and baseball. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, Harry. She was actively engaged with and supportive of her family members and exceptionally generous towards her loved ones. She was very proud of her Greek heritage. Bessie is preceded in death by her husband Harry L. Harrison and only daughter Anne-Marie Turley.
She is survived by her grandsons: Michael Turley and his wife Sabrina, Troy Turley and his wife Tasha; great-grandchildren: Christopher Turley, Marcus Turley, Lucas Turley and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
