Carolyn "Jane" Hunt

Carolyn Jane Hunt, age 83, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2021. She was born on April 15, 1938 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Clarence Watson Bohanan and Grace Margaret Jones Bohanan.

Carolyn graduated from Oak Cliff High School and received her teaching degree from East Texas State in Commerce, Texas. She taught 2nd and 1st grade for 30 years at Crockett Elementary in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church Grand Prairie and the Women’s Club of Grand Prairie. She did volunteer work at Kids, Inc. and Grand Prairie Food & Clothing Co-op. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, sister and aunt to her large family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years, David Hollis Hunt. Her siblings Margaret Estell Bohanan Coleman (Tom Irwin), Robert Russell Bohanan, Gladys Mavis Bohanan Arrington (D.L.), William Morrell Bohanan and Melanie Bohanan.

She is survived by her children Greg Hunt (Doris) and Scott Hunt (Melissa); siblings Clarence Watson Bohanan, Jr. (Julia), James Earl Bohanan, Martha Elizabeth Ray, David Estes Bohanan (Sandy), and sister-in-law Jean Flowers Bohanan. As well as multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3301 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church Grand Prairie, 122 N. Center Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050.
