Claude B. “Bill” Sutton, 85, of Tyler, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. He was born on December 2, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Walsie Mae Davis and Claude Bell Sutton. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Sunset High School in 1951. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1954 and married Carol Ann Bray in 1953. He graduated from Arlington State College in 1956 with an Associate in Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Bill worked for TU Electric as a computer specialist and retired in 1992. After retirement he worked at golf courses; Country View in Lancaster, Texas, Oak Hurst and The Cascades in Tyler, Texas. He had a very special relationship with The Cascades, where he worked as a starter until the summer of 2018.
He is survived by his sons, Jim and his wife Jan, John and his wife Sheryl, Jeff and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Steven Sutton, Christopher Sutton and wife Amy, Cathryn McNally and husband David, Stacey Sutton, Lauren Sutton, Lindsey Sutton; great grandchildren, Chloe Coleman, Allison Sutton, Adelynne Sutton, Aniston Sutton, and James McNally. He is also survived by Carol Bray Sutton, the mother of his children, and special friend Carolyn Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edith Allen and husband G. L. of Port Arthur, Texas and Loraine Peery of Lake Dallas, Texas.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 4th, at 10:30 AM at the Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home at 2951 S Beltline Rd in Grand Prairie, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 4th, at 1:30 PM at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy in Dallas.
